Painting Picasso!

This New Year has started off with a bang! We have been getting up to some fun fieldtrip adventures with visiting schools. Our art project themes have been focusing on different places around the world. I had the chance to create Spain-inspired artwork with a wonderful group of visiting students. We chose to make Picasso inspired statues using his painting and previous work as reference.

Each student was encouraged to work from his or her own reflection but make the resulting piece as crazy as their heart desired. Using basic shapes and combining all features of the faces together, we managed to get some crazy portraits!

Everyone grasped the use of cold and hot colours, and we were all impressed with the brilliant and artistic results! Thank you for joining us, we enjoyed having you!
